We provide small grants to give unpaid carers some much-needed time off
Unpaid carer grants
We recognise the crucial role unpaid carers play in the community. We also recognise that sometimes you need a break from your daily care commitments to rest, recharge, and let you keep delivering the care that only you can.
We are proud to offer two Unpaid carer Grants per month to unpaid carers in the areas we serve. These small grants provide:
Care assessment to fully understand your needs and personalised care plan creation.
10 hours of free daytime home care.
Flexible scheduling for support over a 2 week period of the month.
£20 credit to use with our Mobile Concierge service, allowing groceries or a meal to be delivered, items ordered, or taxis arranged for travel.
Please note, these grants are not designed to replace respite care. Instead they are intended to provide some relief for individuals currently providing 1-3 hours of care daily to a loved one.
Our grants are offered monthly, with applications reviewed on the first Friday of the month, and grants valid for any two week period during that month. Those currently receiving no paid care per week will be prioritised for these grants. To apply, please ensure you meet all of the eligibility criteria and complete the form below.
If you apply for one of our Unpaid Carer Grants and we can’t offer you a grant that month, we will do our best to offer alternative personalised support.
*Two Unpaid Carer Grants are available each month. The application deadline for grants to be used that month is 17:00 on the first Friday of the month*
Eligibility criteria:
The person receiving care is a resident of an area covered by HomaCare (see home page for areas currently covered).
The person receiving care does not receive more than 2 hours per week of paid care.
The person receiving care requires daytime companionship or personal care as outlined on our care services page.
You believe that a short break from your daily care commitments will improve your mental and/or physical ability to continue delivering care to your loved one.
